so, I've kind of been working on something to talk about for the probably, the last couple of months. I wanted to do something on Hope and joy, cuz I feel like that's what our congregation get stuff. Get positive about a lot of things. And I thought about maybe doing something on the holy spirit. Always felt like he's given short graph is that we don't pay enough attention to the Holy Spirit. But that's not what God put in my heart and it wasn't until about a week ago. I finally get gave in and said, okay, I'll keep it where you want me to go. And Four Star Pizza.

Sean Mehta. Man, and his wife last night that we're friends, are friends. And I went went to spend some time with them and he happened to be a retired Minister. I think he was a semblance of God, but but he told me to do this right here. He said the mind can only absorb as much as a seat-of-the-pants can endure. So I have to keep that in mind and in and try to keep things moving and in make sure you're comfortable.
Okay. so, In my opinion, the very worst problems in our world today can be traced back to selfishness. I believe that. Where the desired outcome was well power control. Same amorality. The main benefactor itself is all about me. It really is of no consequence. If the issue is one of physical or spiritual. Religious or secular. The motivation is nearly always self-serving.
Perhaps the most. Missed used in in hurtful term news or social media. It is a used misuse of the word, toxic. If you have a disagreement with somebody, you're dating the stocks. If you simply have a difference of opinion your label toxic. And to the point that you may even be unfriended on Facebook. Or.
Make it worse than that, maybe just cut all their lives all together.
Rational discourse seems to be a rather dangerous species. So why can't we just all get along? Why? Is arise and immorality crying corruption and no room for compassion. Forgiveness.

Well, I have tried to convey to them over the last. several years and before that actually,

How we treat others?
Golden Rule. You did, okay.
Go to church is very important.
Okay, so That the title of this is, the answer is simple. And I think it is really a simple, Matthew 7:12 there, golden rule states that, but I will mention some of the other translations as we're gone. Because it's interesting to note, some of the similarities showing everything, for this sums up the law and the prophets. It's all we wait. We can work everything. And one of the things that I tend to overlook, when I read, this verse is the last part of it. For this sums up the law and the prophets. What do you think about the law and the prophets? That's a huge portion of the Bible is part of the Bible. That's important. It's a big deal.
You realize if he's very simple easy to understand words in the seventh chapter of Matthew were followed by all our world be at peace. Prisons exist. Families would not quarrel and divorce would never happen. Country would not invade country or take up arms against one another.
Now, it sounds a little naive. But on the other hand, if you think about it, there's simply no reason to believe that living doing everyday, the Golden Rule and I'll change your life for the better.
Don't want to just to look at the Golden Rule and how I feel kind of lines with what is often referred to as the love chapter and 1st Corinthians. Chapter 13, and I want to read all of it but about four verses.
But I wanted to know that it, if you look at the end of the 12th, chapter of Matthew. 1st Corinthians.
In the beginning of the chapter. Some translations with Will separate that. Last. Assonance. Or maybe the last sentence of the 12th chapter and in between the 12th and 13th, and it says this. Or something similar to it. And now I will show you the most excellent wife and then it starts the love chapter. This will be Verses 4 through 7. Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy. It does not boast. It is not proud. It does not dishonor others. It is not self-seeking. It is not easily angered. It keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not Delight in evil. But rejoices with the truth. It always protects. Always trusts always hopes always perseveres. How do you wish to be treated?
This passage certainly described how I want to be treated. I want to be shown patience. Sometimes I need more patience. then another I want to, I don't want to be Dishonored.
I don't want people to get angry at me. The reason it correct to say that the Golden Rule. In these verses. You want to be treated?
Like, I'll be treated. People saying why you want to be treated?
Loving kindness. Not envious. You want respect for others?
So I mentioned that I was going to read some other Translate.
Distraught. The King James version says, therefore all things whatsoever. Ye would that men should do to you. Do you even? So, to them for this is the law and the prophets, American Standard Burger King's therefore whatsoever. Ye, would that intended to do unto you even. So, do you also want the damn for? This is the law and the prophets?
Venetian version and everything as you would have them, do you? This is the law prophets. Go real quick.
And IV version Shuffle and everything.
King James or you there for all things? American Standard all things. Therefore, And the revised standard and everything do.
The first few were hurt in the different translations. Tell us that this is not a one-and-done command and it is a commandment. It instructs us to make it a habit to others as you wish to be treated. The Golden Rule, put into use occasionally.
When things are going good, simply be seen as an act. See, it's not the way we live. It is when we make it a part of our daily life, that if it comes, that it makes a difference in our lives, in a relationships and it's some point. I honestly, believe it becomes contagious.
Prison a few years back. I wish it's a man, prisoners. First, we started off as a congregation when large group of about 100 plus show and we broke into the smaller groups. And I happen to know anything of it, an individual celebration refrigerator all by himself.
That should go for real.
Probably about 10 years ago. Down around the courthouse area. I saw two members of this congregation and they were some distance apart, maybe half a block, and, and they were opposing, political views, one side to the other, Howard off, the other hate going to bring this pamphlet to you to sports, my candidate candidate. And the other one said, no, but you stay right there. I need a hug and I'm going to come give you a hug. That's living Golden Rule.
